HAGER CITY, WI – Last Friday, Vice President Mike Pence visited La Crosse to discuss the positive impact USMCA will have on Wisconsin’s farming families.

Derrick Van Orden, a hobby farmer in Hager City, had the privilege of joining the vice president at a round table, which was held at Morning Star Dairy Farm.

WXOW: Farmers-turned-political candidates react to Vice President’s visit
…Republican Congressional Candidate and farmer Derrick Van Orden agreed with Vice President Pence on the USMCA, seeing the trade deal as a chance for American farmers to compete and rise to a new level on the world market.

“It’s going to be impactful, where they’re going to have to raise their prices,” said Van Orden. “The Canadian farmers are going to have to compete on a level playing field, and that’s going to start six months from now.”…

The following day, Derrick joined Matt Boyle on Sirius XM’s Patriot Channel to continue the conversation:

“NAFTA was a complete disaster for us, and [the USMCA is] one of the greatest things that President Trump and Vice President Pence [have done] … [Pence is] really key to the negotiations that were taking place with Canada and Mexico,” Van Orden told host and Breitbart News Washington Political Editor Matthew Boyle. “For the state of Wisconsin, it has been an incredibly positive thing.”

According to Van Orden, the USMCA “levels the playing field” to compete with other members on the “world stage.”
