PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI – In his first quarter of fundraising for his campaign for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, Derrick Van Orden raised over $750,000. A massive fundraising haul for the challenger who gave Ron Kind his closest election in a decade.
Van Orden’s fundraising highlights the importance of the WI-03 race nationally. The Wisconsin 3rd District race is one of the biggest races of the 2022 midterm elections and is integral to Republicans gaining control of the House of Representatives.
This early fundraising strength is promising for Van Orden’s 2022 campaign and will allow him to compete with the special interest money poured into Ron Kind’s campaign from his Washington allies.
Derrick Van Orden released the following statement marking the success of this first quarter of fundraising:
This support shows how important Wisconsinites see this race in taking back the House and ending one party rule of our country. I have committed my life to serving our country, and that is exactly what I will do in Washington: represent the people of western Wisconsin the way they deserve to be represented. Career politician Ron Kind has become a creature of Washington, serving Nancy Pelosi and special interests instead of Wisconsin, and I plan on changing that in 2022.
